There is an amazing new treatment now available and it is causing quite a stir at the Dental Spa.
We are delighted to be the only practice in the area offering Endoret®(PRGF®) as part of our implant or surgical treatment planning.

What does this mean for our patients?
During the placement of an implant or to preserve bone support following the extraction of a tooth wit is sometimes necessary to give the existing bone a little helping hand to increase stability of an implant or to preserve bone levels following a tooth extraction.
By taking a small amount of the patients own blood prior to the procedure we separate the platelets from the Plasma protein and use the Plasma during the procedure.
So why is this better for me?
The product produced is part of you. It is extracted entirely from your own blood meaning that the final product is 100% compatible with your body. This is an advantage for people who may be nervous about acceptance of a foreign body. Whilst artificial bone products are highly controlled and absolutely safe and purified this may not be for you.
Is it more expensive?
No. Using PRGF is about half the cost of using artificial bone products.
So what happens now?
If you are considering having implant treatment or know you will need a tooth extraction then PRGF will be discussed as part of your treatment programme, if it is needed and appropriate in your case. When we schedule your treatment appointment we will ask you to come along an hour earlier for one of our trained Phlebotomy nurses, Caroline or Laura, to take a sample of blood from you. During the hour before treatment this will go through a series of processes to separate the PRGF. This will be delivered to surgery in time for this to be used as part of your treatment.
