A panic attacks happens when your body experiences the beginning of intense symptoms. The symptoms are both psychological and physiological.  You get an immense feeling of fear or panic, followed by physical symptoms such as heart palpitations, nausea and sweating.

The feeling is overwhelming and sufferers often over-breathe (hyperventilate).  This can lead to more unwanted symptoms, making the attack worse. A typical panic attack lasts between five and ten minutes (a life-time to a sufferer) but can come in waves for up to two hours.

Hypnotherapy has proven effective when dealing with anxiety, fear and stress and therefore lends itself well to the treatment of panic attacks. The hypnotherapist will help you to cope with the specific systems using varies techniques depending upon your level of symptom and the reasoning behind your attacks.
