Hypnotherapy and Sleep Disorders
Can’t sleep? Waking up in the middle of the night?
Sleeping is a natural part of our routine. However, we only really appreciate how much we need it, when we don’t get enough! On average, a healthy adult will need seven to eight hours of sleep each night. Unfortunately, it is thought that one in three adults are affected by sleep problems.
These problems may include:
Confusional arousal (waking up but don’t know why?)
Restless Leg Syndrome
Sleepwalking
Sleep Bruxism (teeth grinding)
Insomnia
Hypnotherapy can help by focusing on the understanding and by changing the patterns of behaviour. For sleep disorders, hypnotherapy will do this by seeking out the root of cause of the problem and altering the individual’s perception of it. By inducing a state of deep relaxation, the hypnotherapist will gain access to the unconscious mind and help the patient to alter their negative thought patterns, teaching them how to manage the feelings and view them in a more positive perspective.
