“Fairytale of New York” by The Pogues and featuring Kirsty McCall is one the perennial anthems of the Christmas season. The lead singer with The Pogues is Shane MacGowan and in addition to his singing career, was equally famous for his awful teeth – well he was, but not anymore, he has them fixed.
In a change from the usual Christmas specials on television, the story of Shane’s teeth are going to be featured in a documentary to be shown over the holiday period. It is going to be quite a story as his dentist from Ireland, Mr Darragh Mulrooney, described the journey as “the Everest of Dentistry”. The article suggests that Shane had lost all his teeth through neglect over a prolonged period and took a team of clinicians to achieve the desired end result.
A lot of people are not happy with the appearance of their teeth, in fact 75% of British adult don’t like to smile for the camera. This is such a shame as a smile is so important to show happiness, particularly when with friends and family over the festive period – remember these days everyone has a camera on their phone, so you always need to be smiling.
