It is estimated that mental ill health accounts for nearly as much morbidity as all physical illnesses together. Around nine million adults in the UK have a common mental disorder. According to the Centre of Economic Performance only ten percent of those with depression or anxiety-related issues are receiving therapy.
It is clear the share of NHS expenditure associated with mental ill health is disproportionate and should not be justified but, there are individual/private practitioners like myself who can help.
Whilst attitudes towards mental health are improving, it is clear there are still certain sigma’s attached to receiving care for mental well being. However studies show that around eighty percent of clients are better off after therapy, with sixty five percent showing significant improvement after just seven sessions.
