Anish Patel

Consultant Orthodontist

Anish qualified from Bristol University. Following graduation he joined the Royal Air Force. During his seven years with the RAF as a Dental Officer working at multiple bases around the UK and also served in Cyprus and Germany. He also had an operational tour at various sites in Helmand Province Afghanistan. His varied career background has given him a well-grounded understanding of the different aspects of dentistry.

Anish went on to pursue his interest in orthodontics and completed an intensive three year training programme at Birmingham Dental Hospital to specialist level and was awarded the William Houston Gold Medal for being one of the top performers in the exit exam. He then went onto train a further two years to consultant level working on complex adult and paediatric cases.

Anish now works at The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital as a consultant Orthodontist treating a variety of paediatric and adult cases including multi-disciplinary cases involving jaw surgery and those with missing and impacted teeth.

Anish thoroughly enjoys the part he plays in helping his patients’ self-confidence and the journey that they go on in achieving the smile they want. He is accredited in Invisalign and can offer ceramic options to make the treatment more discreet.

Outside of work he enjoys his time being outnumbered by his wife and two young girls, his best food critics. When he can he tries to keep up with his passion for fitness and sport and long awaits the ski season to return.
