This patient came originally to discuss tooth whitening. Upon examination, it was determined that the patient’s tooth discolouration was due to a developmental abnormality, making them an unsuitable candidate for whitening treatment.
We discussed alternative treatment options and agreed that minimal preparation veneers would be the most suitable approach. This conservative method required minimal tooth adjusment.
Two weeks later, the patient underwent a procedure to fit six veneers. While a relatively simple case, the results were remarkable, leaving both the patient and the dental team smiling.
Debbie absolutely hated her teeth and would always cover her mouth when she smiled. To make matters worse Debbie wasn’t very keen on seeing dentists, avoiding treatment wherever possible.
Debbie’s main complaint was the uneven appearance of her front teeth and the uneven spaces. She didn’t like the teeth that stuck out at different angles from the rest.
As always the first stage in planning the proposed treatment was to make some stone models of the teeth and then set up the new smile in wax. Debbie was so excited with what her new smile was going to look like, she wept the odd tear of sheer joy and we even took pictures of the models.
After we had completed the planning, and even though Debbie was very keen, she was still very nervous and we had to use sedation, so it took a bit longer than normal. We used a combination of restorations to create her new smile:
Debbie’s new smile has really changed her life – she now invites her friends round just to talk about her teeth.
Harpal was quite concerned about the appearance of his teeth, particularly the gap between his two front teeth. He had undergone orthodontic treatment twice, but the gap had persisted and, in fact, worsened after the second attempt, which had also caused excessive wear on his teeth.
To address Harpal’s concerns, a comprehensive treatment plan was devised. This involved:
A diagnostic wax-up was created to visualise the desired outcome and guide the preparation of the teeth. This ensured a precise and aesthetically pleasing result.
Following the treatment, Harpal is noticeably more confident and enthusiastic about his new smile. While his interest in his teeth remains, his focus has shifted from concern to admiration.
Luke had planned his dream wedding in Cyprus, but had concerns of the appearance of his smile. Despite previous attempts at cosmetic dentistry, including veneers that had unfortunately failed, Luke remained dissatisfied with the appearance of his teeth.
His main concern was the discolouration of his front teeth, both upper and lower. While his teeth were naturally well-shaped, the staining and underlying bite issues had hindered his confidence.
To address these issues, a comprehensive treatment plan was devised:
A diagnostic wax-up was created to visualise the desired outcome and guide the preparation of the teeth. Careful attention was paid to the bite adjustment to ensure optimal function and longevity of the veneers.
With his new, confident smile, Luke was able to fully enjoy his wedding day. He later bought in his wedding photos and showed the team how his beaming new smile complemented his beautiful bride, Sarah, and how it added to the overall joy of the occasion.
Milly visited the dental practice for the first time, expressing her dissatisfaction with the appearance of her teeth. She had previously undergone orthodontic treatment to straighten her teeth and close a gap between her two front teeth. Unfortunately, the gap had since returned, a condition known as relapse.
Milly was not interested in further orthodontic treatment to correct the gap. Instead, we proposed a simpler, more conservative approach: using tooth-coloured filling material to widen her teeth and close the gap.
Using composite bonding techniques, we were able to significantly improve Milly’s smile within an hour. The gap that had caused her self-consciousness for years was effectively closed without the need for invasive procedures like enamel reduction or damaging the underlying tooth in any way.
Both Milly and the team were thrilled with the outcome. This case exemplifies the power of minimally invasive dentistry to achieve significant aesthetic improvements without compromising the health of the teeth.
