How does Laser Hair Removal work?

Diode Laser Hair Removal is a fast, effective and longer lasting way to remove unwanted body or facial hair. Laser has the longest track record as a long term solution to hair removal and should not be confused with IPL. The laser emits a beam which is absorbed by the pigment in the hair. It is designed to destroy the hair and within 1-2 weeks, hair that has been damaged by the laser is lost and as the follicle is also disabled, hair regrowth is significantly reduced.

Which areas can the Diode Laser treat?

Virtually any area you want to get rid of hair. We can treat nose and ear hair, but we don’t do this by treating right inside the ears and nose (this will be discussed with you by your practitioner). We may also not be able to treat the parts of the eyebrows that are very close to your eyes, or hair that is below the eyebrows. We are able to treat transgender clients during their change very successfully.

How do I know if I can have Laser Hair Removal?

Most people, male or female, can benefit from Laser Hair Removal, although our Care Quality Commission Registration only allows us to treat patients over the age of 18. (Registration is a legal requirement for practitioners using laser). The best results can be seen with dark hair.

If you have higher levels of pigmentation in your skin, you will need to take extra care. At your consultation the practitioner will do a patch test to check your suitability for laser treatment.

There may be some other medical conditions that mean you can’t be treated and the practitioner will be able to talk to you about these.

Are fillers safe?

Yes. They are made from a gel containing water and hyaluronic acid which is a substance that occurs naturally in the body. This means that they are completely natural and safe. Over 7,000,000 of the treatments have been given worldwide. The Restylane products we use have been clinically tested for their efficiency and safety.

How do anti-aging skin fillers work?

When injected under the surface of skin that has lost its natural supporting tissue (which has caused the line or wrinkle) it leads to a smoothing out of the line or wrinkle, resulting in a fresher looking more youthful appearance.

Who is suitable for fillers?

At your consultation a full medical history will be taken and your face examined and assessed as to the suitability of using fillers. In general terms, anybody who is not pregnant or breast feeding, hasn’t been treated with the drug roaccutane(usually used for treating acne) in the last 12 months and hasn’t had recent treatment such as skin resurfacing or a chemical peel in the last 6 weeks, is suitable for treatment.
